Sharon Burke

Sharon’s penchant for education is unyielding. Throughout her academic career she has been recognized several times for outstanding academic achievement. In 2002, she was selected as a Minority Fellow by the Board of Trustees of the Connecticut Community and Technical Colleges for her contribution and achievement at a two year institution. Her work with the fellowship program has enriched system of the community colleges in general and the lives of the students served in particular. She is experienced in working with diverse populations including adult learners as well as K-12 students.


Sharon has developed and facilitated Parent Involvement (PI) workshops locally as well as for the School District of Philadelphia, PA Parent University designed to assist parents to parents deal with some of the frequent challenges as they work with their children in navigating the educational process.


On the corporate side, Sharon has over twenty years experience in Human Resources Management. Her work in the corporate industry include consulting to numerous small, midsized and fortune 500 companies in the areas of recruitment, career transition management, executive assessment and organizational effectiveness. Ms. Burke has attended several seminars in race relations including “Teaching for Diversity and Social Justice” as well as several day-long training on cultural competency, tolerance, building self awareness and gender differences. She has co-facilitated workshops on cultural competency and diversity assessment training for several corporate and education clients.
